Privacy Policy
Tapolia is currently a private beta. This policy describes the app and local companion as built. The final seller identity, support contact, hosting provider, and any production relay details will be added before public store distribution.
What Tapolia does
Tapolia connects your phone to a limited companion running on your Mac. That companion communicates with the official Codex App Server so you can list, read, start, and continue Codex threads.
Data on your phone
The app stores your companion address, a device-protected pairing token, subscription entitlement state, and a privacy-minimized widget snapshot. The widget snapshot contains recent thread IDs, titles, project names, and working state. It does not contain prompts or assistant responses.
Data on your Mac
Your Codex or ChatGPT credential stays on your Mac. The companion receives the requests needed to perform the action you choose. It does not log pairing tokens, prompts, or thread content by default.
Network use
The private beta is designed for a trusted local or private network. Direct public-internet exposure of the development HTTP companion is not supported. A public release will require an authenticated HTTPS transport and an updated policy naming its service providers and retention.
Purchases
Apple or Google processes subscription purchases. Tapolia receives product and entitlement information, but not your full payment-card details. Their privacy policies govern store payment processing.
Support
If you ask for support, the information you choose to provide may be used to diagnose and respond to the issue. A verified support contact will be published before the public beta.
Your choices
You can remove the widget, clear the companion address and token, uninstall the app, stop the Mac companion, and manage or cancel the subscription through Apple or Google. Uninstalling the app does not delete your Codex threads from your Mac or OpenAI account.
Children
Tapolia is not directed to children under 13 and is intended for people eligible to use Codex under the applicable OpenAI terms.
Changes
We will update this page when the production transport, seller, support channel, or data practices change. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above.
