How it works
A private bridge to your Mac.
Tapiola uses a small companion that talks to the official Codex App Server. The development build is designed for your private local network.
Run the companion
Start Tapiola Companion on the Mac where Codex is installed.
Pair your phone
Enter the private Mac address and one pairing token in Tapiola settings.
Add the widget
Place the small, medium, or large widget on your home screen and keep shipping.

Useful before you install.
Can I type a full message inside the home-screen widget?
No. iPhone widgets cannot host a full keyboard or scrolling chat. Tapping New Thread or a recent thread opens the exact screen inside Tapiola immediately. Android follows the same focused pattern.
Does $99.99/year include ChatGPT or OpenAI usage?
No. Tapiola is a separate convenience app. You need your own eligible Codex access, and any OpenAI usage remains governed by your OpenAI account.
Does Tapiola upload my Codex login?
No. Your Codex login stays on your Mac. The mobile app uses a pairing token to reach the limited Tapiola companion interface.
Can I use it away from home?
The private beta is intended for a trusted local or private network. A general public release needs a secure HTTPS relay or private tunnel with device revocation.
